HOOTCH

The sign on the door reads "SILVER LAKE REAL ESTATE is for SALE"

This hootch, in the town of Chu Lai, South Vietnam, provided living quarters for up to three Army Medical Officers during the Vietnam War.

The outer part was constructed of wooden planks and plywood. The left side was lined with sand-filled barrels. On the right, sand was piled high to the roof. Sandbags can be seen on the roof above the door and atop the pitched roof.
